A chance meeting with the producers of Paranormal Lockdown on site in May 2018 instigated the idea to release a media pack of sorts; the sort of thing that contains basic information but enough to stimulate interest. Several versions were released from a humble 10 page demo booklet right through to what was released in May 2021, From The Inside, a far cry from these beginnings going from ten pages to 260! Throughout the project it became increasingly obvious to me that there was so much information relating to Shepton Mallet prison that there would be enough material for an entire volume, akin to the likes of the Encyclopedia Britannica.
So, my quest since September 2017 has been to unravel mystery after mystery, also promoting the site in the best way possible and by getting as much information out the public. As a result, the rather discreetly situated prison is its own dark horse with connections to practically any aspect of history one could imagine.
The arts have also featured on location namely through the B Wing project as part of Somerset Art Weeks and in 2021 Art Behind Bars. The latter has seen heavy involvement from Timequest in relation to working with artists on a number of research requests. The result of this, coupled with creative elements will be featured in my next book A Place To Connect.
Prior to the release of From the Inside on the 17th May 2021, another publication had been produced, although strictly non-commercial in nature this publication focused on my work in the field of analytics, statistics, mobile applications development and database creation, most of which also happens to be my day job. This guide of sorts formed a back up of the work in this field to date while focusing on statistically relevant data aspects from prison registers in order to present figures in unique and trendy ways.
In 2021 work continues in the piecing together of a database called the Justice System, with basic information that links to digitized images of the actual prison registers. The idea for this stems way back to my days at the Galleries Of Justice, back in the days when we would take a laptop during an investigation to back up ‘paranormal’ occurrences with historical fact.
